I got this picture on Monday. After watching the horses hobbling around the rocky paddock all day, I put hoof boots on them in the evening and they immediately took off hooning. What a change! Rearing, bucking, running flat out from one end of the run, spinning on the spot and racing back again. It was lovely to see! I love watching horses play.
Unfortunately I can’t leave their boots on all day – I have noticed that after a few hours of wearing hoof boots, their heels and fetlocks are a bit rubbed and tender. But it is nice to give their bare feet some relief from the rocky ground, so they can play around together and just have fun being horses.
